As owners we represent
the gamut of beer.
One who has never liked it and doesn’t drink it at all.
One that drinks beer but is still a relative newbie when it comes to hoppy versions.
And one that is a full- fledged craft beer nut.
Regardless of our differences we and our brewers all agree on one thing…we aren’t in business to produce mediocre beer. We use the finest ingredients possible adjusting and improving upon our recipes until we obtain results that satisfy each and every one of us. Then, once we reach a unanimous thumbs-up verdict; we strive to brew each beer consistently every time in as much as it is humanly possible. We think it’s important when you find a beer of ours you like you can enjoy it again and again.
We started with six beers we think are appealing to a wide range of craft beer drinkers. Now, we look forward to exploring the potentially endless possibilities of flavors and styles and to grow our brands slowly over time to ensure quality over quantity. Our brewers are talented, knowledgeable, and most of all passionate about their craft. They take the often exhausting process of brewing beer and make it fun so you can enjoy their magic one pint at a time. That makes us lucky and blessed and worth a hearty toast. Cheers!
wound, a balm.
For every sorrow, cheer.
For every storm, a calm.
For every thirst, a beer.

introduction to her cookbook, “Lost Recipes: Meals to share with
friends and family,” Marion Cunningham poses the question, Why are
fewer people cooking at home? Amongst the many reasons she lists is
one she believes to be paramount…home cooking in America has long
been considered a drudgery.
For us, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. We grew up surrounded by cooks; none with traditional culinary backgrounds but masters in the kitchen nonetheless. A grandfather revered at his local Moose Lodge for his unique take on fish chowder. A father who turned simple barbeque into ceremony. A mother who relied on a series of crockpots and time (of which she had precious little) to convert a few ingredients into a comforting evening meal.
To us, food is more than sustenance. It is woven into the fabric of our family. It creates legends, startles memories, and gives us one more reason to appreciate our lives.
We staff our kitchen at Old School Annex using the same approach. You won’t find classically trained chefs sporting chef whites and bloated egos; just talented cooks practicing the alchemy of food with flavorful results. In our kitchen we take fresh ingredients, add a heap of moxie along with a dash of adventurousness to coax out every ounce of umami; then bring it to your table where it can be tasted, pondered, devoured, savored, relished, contemplated, and enjoyed. Fresh beer. Fresh food. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
There is no more appropriate time than now to think about how and why we cook. Food is a way of connecting with the people who surround us. Through it, we communicate emotions like love, compassion and understanding, and there is no better opportunity to communicate with our children than at the table. It's where we can discuss our values of life that are important to us as individuals, as a family and as a part of the world we live in.
